Would You ...?

If we lived in a different culture, where religion permitted and allowed women and men to date openly, would you kiss on a first date especially if it was a blind date?

I would do it in this culture (depending on the person).

You do something because you think its the right thing to do; not because society/religion allows it. ;)

That's your opinion, but i disagree with it :)

If we all did what it felt right to do sexually, we would have babies having babies and in wood lock. I do believe we need religion and society to govern our actions in somethings and dating happens to be one of them :)

I think a person should be raised to be able to set their own limits. If the only thing stopping people from having a million kids out of wedlock is religion/government/society ... then we have much larger issues on our hands.

Maybe if people 'were allowed' to date .. then we wouldn't have such a high divorce rate (last I heard 37%). And lets be honest; dating would be much less extreme compared to the majority of things happening in apartments/chalets/mo5ayems. I would much rather have two people dating in public then much worse in private.

Religion is not the only reason people don’t have kids out of wedlock but its one of the strongest reasons in my opinion.

As for the divorce rate in Kuwait, well if not dating is the reason these rates are so high, then what’s the United States excuse? If I am not mistaken they have the highest divorce rates in the world and they are allowed to date freely.

Kthekuwaiti and I are just having differences of opinion, and as you mentioned it is a healthy one :)

Your way of approach to me sounds reasonable :)

And I am just a conservative girl I guess :)

Dating or kissing someone on a blind date(provided it is consensual) is not the end of the world.
Some of us have the balls and the free will to act upon our innermost desires and others simply don't.

As long as each group recognises the right of the other to co-exist, we are basically home and dry.

PS: My only concerns about kissing would be with the risk of contracting infectious mononucleosis from the other person.

Yes I hear infectious mononucleosis is very common in Kuwait due to all the kissing that goes around here here I guess :)

It takes more than just smooching for men & women to start reproducing like bunnies in the wild. For a qualified opinion on this, one would only need touch base with the perpetually pregnant ex- premier of Pakistan: Ms. Bhutto who's been there; done that, so to speak.

Personally, if you fear that by kissing someone you beget children, learn to find solace in men kissing other men- surely, that is a completely harmless indulgence in itself, don't you think? :)
